Feeling stuck in patterns that won't change?

Behind every challenge lies an untold story. Together, we'll uncover and work on the deeper patterns that create lasting change

As your coach, I help you see the bigger picture, turning complex challenges into clear solutions, often more quickly than you'd expect.

The Systemic Coach

Hello, I am Emma

As a psychotherapist, mental health professional, and transformative coach, I bring a unique systemic lens to personal development. My approach recognises that our challenges do not exist in isolation, they're shaped by relationship patterns, family dynamics, and even intergenerational influences we may not be consciously aware of. Not forgetting wider social, educational and even political contexts that impact every one of us.

Through years of clinical experience and research-backed understanding, I've observed that what we often label as individual mental health struggles are actually responses to deeper relational blueprints. By combining targeted psychoeducation with systemic insights, I coach clients quickly and impactfully to cut through complexity to achieve meaningful breakthroughs.

Together, we transform persistent and repetitive patterns into lasting positive change that extends beyond individual wellness to enhance your entire relational system.

You can't understand a system by breaking it into parts - Virginia Satir

So what makes my approach different?

By shining a light on your unique belief systems, values, and how you view your challenges, we can cut through the complexity, often finding surprisingly simple solutions.

Many of my clients experience insight in just one session.

Maybe you would you like to know A little more about me?

I think it is always helpful to get a sense of someone before working with them, so I have written this piece with an attempt to demonstrate some of my credentials and experience.

I trained for 6 years initially as a psychotherapist going on to complete systemic practitioner training at the Tavistock centre. Adding in ICF credential coach training with an intention to support clients who were looking for additional ways of working which did not require weekly appointments, I wanted to incorporate and integrate my learning to support people in ways that met individual needs.

To share a little of my background, I have worked within mental health organisations, both NHS and private, and delivered training for a wide variety of businesses from premiership football clubs to the charity sector and into corporate organisations that want to have conversations around wellbeing incorporating different perspectives.

As the former mental health lead for a countywide family counselling service, I championed a truly trauma-informed approach. Rather than using diagnostic labels, we asked a simple but powerful question: 'What has happened to you?' instead of 'What is wrong with you?'

Even while working closely with NHS and social services, where medical model dominates, we maintained this human-centered perspective. This experience deepened my systemic approach, seeing people as whole individuals shaped by their experiences rather than defined by symptoms. Current research continues to validate this perspective, showing how our challenges often reflect our stories rather than pathology.

I believe we can understand every emotion and difficulty, as a response to something, and I see my work as helping you discover what that is.

Fundamentally Trauma Informed

Authentic and congruent

No ridiculous or far fetched claims or promises

Collaborative and empowering

Fully qualified with 15 years experience
